The Lives of Others (Movie Watch)

East Berlin, November 1984, Five years before its downfall, the former East-German government ensured its claim to power with a ruthless system of control & surveillance. Party-loyalist Captain Gerd Wiesler hopes to boost his career when given the job of collecting evidence against the playwright Georg Dreyman & his celebrated theater actress girlfriend, Christa-Maria Sieland. Putting his loyalist classmate & co-worker, Wiesler, on the assignment sounds like a clear & cut move to the top of the food chain... yet after operation "Lazlo" is underway no one leaves without a revealing scar.
