This is England (Movie Watch)

Roland Rat, Margaret Thatcher; Rubik's Cubes, the Royal Wedding; aerobics, skinheads... It's 1983, & the schools are breaking up for summer. Shaun is 12 & a bit of a loner, growing up with his mum in a grim coastal town, his dad killed fighting in the Falklands War. On his way home from school where he's been tormented all day for wearing flares, he runs into a group of skinheads, who against expectations turn out to be friendly & take him under their wing. Soon Shaun discovers parties, girls, snappy dressing & finds some role models in Woody, Milky & the rest of the gang. But when an older, overtly racist skinhead returns home from prison, the easy camaraderie of the group is broken & Shaun is drawn into much more uncomfortable territory.

Based largely on his own experience as a youngster, this is Shane Meadows' most mature & fully realised film. Handling the complexities of masculinity, violence & race with sensitivity & a lightness of touch, it's hard to imagine a film that would better capture the mood of the time, or that could have any greater an understanding of the allure of being part of a gang.

The Dark Knight (Leaked Teaser Trailer)

A little over a month ago, on the interenet could be found the description of the soon to be released teaser for "The Dark Knight." Well lucky for all of you, since then the teaser has leaked & you can check it out here below.

The description was described as "Black background, cards begin to fall in slow motion, the joker whispers things directed at Batman, the audience, the final card to fall is the joker, with also a picture of the bat signal on fire." While there is lots of whispering going on, which is pretty inaudible, I believe the last thing The Joker is supposed to say before going into his madman laugh is "The essence of laughter is insanity." I know I can't wait to go nuts over this, but first some Indy must do.

Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull (Movie Watch)

During production of "Indiana Jones 4," which started on June 21st, Master director Steven Spielberg took a quick picture of Harrison Ford wearing the familiar Indy costume which was posted on Indiana

The result: Ford looks awesome & very believable. Must have been a really action packed scene though, since he has all that dirt on his hat & blood on his knee. At this point, very little is known about the plot, except for a few rumors about aliens, Albert Einstein & a huge explosion in the beginning of the film but it all seems like everything needed for an awesome addition to the series is trickling in though, so stay tuned. Now if only Connery would stop playing games & get back for a cameo. I can't help going on about this film. Indiana Jones is the most anticipated film for me. I have no worries about it's awesomeness ability. So to Steven & Co. I say, kick some major action adventure ass which lame copycats like National Crappy Treasure can only hope to ever achieve. Who needs Han Solo when you got Indy?!

FF 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer (What to Know)

Several sites had been spreading the rumor that the upcoming "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" would be rated PG, but FOX has now confirmed it to be true.

The original was at least rated PG-13 for sequences of intense action & some suggestive content. Now apparently the new film will take out the intense action & suggestive content and will probably have the characters just playing chess. It's nice & safe and nobody gets hurt. "Fantastic Four 2" has also actually received an MPAA rating lower than the upcoming Harry Potter film, which is PG-13. And to top it all off, this garbage of a ghetto film is only 92 minutes long. Do yourself a favor, as I will, and wait for this one to come out on DVD if that. But if you ABSOLUTELY must find out how the Fantastic Four fight the villains without hurting anyone, the crap falls on theaters June 15th.
